COLUMNS

Columns will be installed in a similar metal structure as used with pedals. This structure will also be the platform where seats, throttle and pedestal will be installed.

This is the sketch of the system:

I don't have tools to build this mechanism, so I have bought it in a workshop.

Here you can see the inner gear and the bottom of each column:

 

With this elements we can adjust the cable tension:

This is the pre-mounted set, pending fitting it to the structure at the proper distance and height:

 

To fit the columns to the structure I have to place the seat on its position to check distance and height. I fit the columns using a piece of wood and a couple of bearings:

 

Then I install the springs (one for each movement direction. In the neutral position none of the springs must be in tension. When you pull the column, only one spring is working. When you push the column, the other spring works.
